The region of Trebinje is known for growing grape vines and numerous wine cellars. It is interesting to note that in 1898 the Austro-Hungarian Empire formed a vineyard station with 29 hectares of vineyards from which the famous type “žilavka” was made with special labels for the needs of the Viennese court.
