Fortress Golo brdo

Fort-Net

What will make fortress Golo brdo remain in your memory is the silhouette of the fortification, which portrays the stone landscape of the mountains that surround it, on your way towards it. Originally called Fortress VII, it belongs to the older generation built of hand-hewn stone blocks, of exceptional precision. Artillery platforms were subsequently added to it.  At its foot, there are the remains of nine cisterns and stables. The thematic route of Andrić’s story about life under the empire ends here. The atmosphere of the fateful 1914 was described on a tourist board with the quotes from the book „The bridge on the Drina”.
