by

The medieval fortress is located on a hill above the river Lištica. It was first mentioned by franciscan Peter Bakula in the schematism of the Franciscan Province of Herzegovina as early as 1867. Other historians, such as franciscans Dominik Mandić, Rudolf Bonić, and Bonicije Rupčić, who soon reach a common conclusion about the historical name of Kruševica, soon discuss them. The names of Gradina and Borak are also known among the people. The toponym Kruševica is mentioned in four charters from the 1st half. 15th century, the most significant being that of King Argon Alfonso V. The first research was carried out in 1974-76. led by archaeologist Tomislav Andjelic, who, despite his modest findings of movable heritage, managed to confirm the archeological potential of the late Middle Ages. In this sense, we can attribute this object to the families of the nobles Radivojević and Vlatković in Herzegovina, and to the final feudal ruler of herceg Stjepan Kosača.

The fort has an irregular rectangular shape with the addition of square towers and fortifications of the ramparts, while the other buildings are visible only by the cistern. It was built on a strategic location for the purpose of controlling the Mostar-Duvno and Herzegovina-mountain roads. The fort is adapted to the configuration of the terrain with walls up to 1.5 m thick and up to 6 meters high.
