Kom Fortress

Fort-Net

The guardian of the military camp-town, the fortress Kom, was constructed in the 1880s as a typical building with two parts: a barracks on three level and a platform for artillery. It is interesting that it (and this also applies to other fortresses in the Bay of Kotor) at that time had its own infrastructure – regular water supply from the cisterns, electricity through generators and sewerage system. The fortification planners took great care of the good living conditions for the army. A short hiking trail quickly takes you from the foot to the remains of the fortress. Next to it, you will relax and enjoy the view of the surrounding mountain ranges and the forest at the foot, which was once a location of the large military camp Crkvice. Near the fortification, you will find a tourist board with an interesting story about the transfer of information in the Boka defense system. There, a task awaits you – to find the remains of the system in the fortress.
